What started as one technician’s vision has grown into a trusted local company providing heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions for residential and commercial customers.
Heat & Kool was founded in 2005 by Chris Sillick, who has been working in the HVAC/R industry since 1988 and currently serves as Vice President. Over the years, the company has continued to grow under the leadership of Christina Sillick, a mechanical engineer who now serves as President. In March 2025, Heat & Kool proudly became a certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) in New York State.

Why the “K”?
Like many great businesses, the name Heat & Kool has a story behind it.
In April 2005, after 17 successful years in the HVAC industry, Chris Sillick decided it was time to start his own company. As he worked through the early stages of launching the business, he reached out to his father, Dick Sillick — a longtime professional in the advertising world — for advice on naming the company.
Within minutes, Dick sent over a logo that looked almost identical to the one we still use today. Chris asked why he chose the name Heat & Kool, and Dick replied, “It tells them everything they need to know.”
Chris had one more question: “But why the ‘K’, Dad?”
Dick simply answered, “Because it’s Kool!”
Dick passed away in 2011, but his creativity and spirit remain part of Heat & Kool’s story. We are proud to carry that legacy forward as we continue serving our customers, supporting our employees, and contributing to the Rochester community.
